Newly Elected BOD; Meeting July 24, 7pm

Dear Neighbors,

The BOD would like to congratulate Kristi, Mick, and Angelo for being elected to the board on July 11th and thank Sue for continuing her hard work Secretary. The BOD would also like to thank all those that submitted their household votes via email, proxies, and in person.  It was a great turnout.

The newly elected BOD will hold a meeting on July 24, 2013 at 7pm to cover the agenda listed on the meeting minutes page.  It includes June’s financial data and old business such as temporary bylaws and tasking our lawyer with developing permament bylaws.  Lastly, it includes motions for authorizing additional landscaping work and adjusting the late fee structure.  If there is inclement weather, the meeting will be held the following day.

Also, please review the latest meeting minutes and financial data on the web page and the updated rules as per the June 20th BOD meeting.  They have been rolled back to those originally included in the declaration that can be found under the ‘documents’ tab on the website.  The rules will be reviewed again per the transition plan after the bylaws have been fully implemented.

Thank you,
Steven Tommell

Special Election on July 11th, 2013

Dear Neighbors,
The Association will be hosting a special election on July 11th to fill three director’s positions until January 2014.  The election will take place on July 11th, 7pm at the grassy area behind the mailboxes (weather permitting).  The bios and pictures of the three candidates, Angelo, Mick, and Kristi are on the special election page of this website.  Other neighbors may announce their candidacy at any time up to the meeting as a write-in candidate.
Households may vote in person at the meeting or submit a proxy.  Proxies may be submitted electronically from the email address registered with the Association (same address that received the election package).  Simply reply to that email and mark your household’s vote in the proxy from below before July 11th, 2013, at 6pm.  Households may also print a proxy form from the special election page of this website and give it to a neighbor or director to be presented at the July 11th meeting.
Please take the time to vote and have your voice heard.
Thank you,
Steven Tommell

Special Election Candidates: Last Call

Dear Neighbors,
Tomorrow the Board will be sending out the special election packet via email containing a bio of all those seeking a board of directors seat for terms until January 2014 per the transition plan.  I have received some bio’s but wanted to send a last request as a reminder.  The election will be held on July 11.  More details will be included in the special election packet.  Write-ins will be welcome through July 11 and at the special Board of Director’s meeting on that day.  However, having a bio in the election packet is the most advantageous way to promote your candidacy.
Thanks,
Steven Tommell

Special Executive Board Meeting: June 20, 2013

Dear Neighbors,
There will be a special Executive Board Meeting on June 20, 2013 per the transition plan.  It will be held at the grassy common area behind the mailboxes (weather permitting as expected).  A full agenda will be posted and emailed tomorrow.
The first item of business will be to appoint interim board members.  Those will be Mick Parikh, Angelo Brigante Jr, and Kristi Smith.  Sue Waterbury will be serving as interim Secretary until the special elections in July.  I would like to thank them all for volunteering during the transistion.
Also as mentioned in the transistion plan, the board plans on adopting a temporary set of bylaws to guide the Association and Executive Board until a permanent set can be drafted and voted on by the Association members in the September timeframe.  These temporary bylaws are located under the “Transition Plan” tab.  They will be voted on by the Executive Board on Thursday but are still open for input from the Association members and amendment from the Executive Board at the meeting.  Please review them and provide feedback, as they will serve as input for the permanent bylaws.
The Board looks forward to everybody’s input and participation Thursday.
Respectfully,
Steven Tommell

Hidden Valley Board Transistion Plan

Dear Neighbors,
The transition plan to repopulate the board and undertake the process of drafting and approving new bylaws and updated rules and regulations has been posted.  The dates are subject to change. We may be able to accelerate some steps depending on the complexity and feedback we receive. Each step in the plan will be communicated to the neighborhood via email and the website with updated information including time and place of meetings and any material neighbors may need at that time.

The Board would like to urge all neighbors to remain informed and involved in each of these steps as they have the potential to affect the health of the neighborhood and our daily lives.

Respectfully,

Steve Tommell

Welcome to Hidden Valley Association’s New Website

Dear Neighbors,

Welcome to the new Hidden Valley Association’s website.  This is starting as an idea to more easily get information about the transition period to the neighborhood.  However, this has the possibility to become much more but it will take time.  Please return here often to get more information and see any new features.

The first thing you can do to help is visit the “About” section above and leave your comments on how best to describe our community.  We’ll combine everybody’s thoughts and update that section.

Secondly, the transition section will have an updated plan consisting of the next steps including approximate dates in the next few days.  This section will be password protected as will other more private information about our community.  The password will be distributed to the list of email addresses on file for each household when the transition plan is released.  If you haven’t already done so, please email the board at hidden.valley.meriden@gmail.com along with your address.

Lastly,  the Board will be using this website to distribute all future board information to the neighborhood along with the email distribution list.  If you create a WordPress account and “follow” this page, you will be able to receive email alerts when our page is updated.

Respectfully,

Steve Tommell
